Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho says he has told the club's doctor not to call him with any injury updates because he wants a day off from their fitness problems.

His team go to Manchester United on Sunday and have few options up front with Diego Costa and Loic Remy having been sidelined. However, Mourinho insisted he was not looking for sympathy.

"Wednesday is our day off and the doctor is forbidden to call me to speak about injuries," he said. "I don't want to speak about injuries, Manchester United. I don't want to know.

"I cannot speak about United. I can speak about ourselves. We are playing well, we are getting good results. We don't cry on injuries. It's our philosophy, we don't cry.

"We just think one injury means an opportunity for somebody else. We cannot hide. In this moment we have some problems with players that are not available to play.

"We will prepare the game Thursday, Friday, Saturday to try to be at our best possible level against an opponent which we respect very, very much."

Remy suffered a groin strain during Chelsea's 6-0 thrashing of Maribor in the Champions League on Tuesday night and Mourinho said he does not expect the striker to recover in time to face United.

Costa, who has scored nine goals for Chelsea since signing from Atletico Madrid for £32 million in the summer, was already a major a doubt for Sunday's game with his on-going hamstring problems, an issue Mourinho has largely blamed on the striker's handling by Spain.

Didier Drogba, 36, who has made only one start since returning to the club this season, is set to fill in if Remy and Costa fail to recover in time.
